Anthus cinnamomeus
Home Alphabetical Maps Taxonomic Links/Resources

The grassland or African pipit is the most common pipit in Tanzania. In flight the white outer tail feathers are one feature that separates it from the long-billed pipit whose outer tail feathers show buff. The bird with nest material was seen at Simba Farm on West Kilimanjaro (12-17), courtesy of Michael Harris. The left 2nd row bird was seen at Lake Manyara (7-12); the others, at Engikaret (4-06 & 3-10).
