Hildebrandt's starling is an East African endemic that is found in north central and northeast Tanzania. The red eyes and lack of a white breast band distinguish it from the superb starling (see left 2nd row photo with both species (Engikaret, 2-08). The right lower photo was taken in the Serengeti (2-08), courtesy of Steve Dolberg. The others were taken Tarangire, Oldonyo Sambu and the Serengeti.
