The black-winged stilt is common throughout Tanzania on salt and fresh water. The male has a fully black back while the female is partially brown on the back. The adult and immature were seen at Tarangire (11-14). The nest was photographed at Bagamoyo (5-12), courtesy of Riaan Marais. The video was filmed at Lake Burunge (11-12). The upper four small photos were taken at Nanja Dam (upper, 6-06) and Ndutu (1-01); the lower 2, at Arusha NP (11-08) and Ndutu (3-10).
