The brown-crowned tchagra has a brown crown stripe bordered with black. Habitat is similar to the black-crowned tchagra, open woodland and bushed grassland. The two species may occur in the same area. The left upper photo was taken in Olasiti (11-07); the right upper, at Lobo (8-08), courtesy of Henrik Kisbye; and the right 4th row, at Tarangire (2-08), courtesy of Mike Peterson.
