Usually seen in pairs or small groups, the cape teal in our area is restricted to the lakes of the northern Rift valley. The top flight photo was taken at Big Momela-Arusha NP (11-17), courtesy of Claude Melde; the 2nd row flight photo, Arusha NP (9-23), courtesy Per Holmen. The 5th & 6th row photos were taken in the Serengeti (2-17) and at Lake Natron (2-15), both courtesy of Paul Oliver. The lower family panorama is also courtesy of Paul Oliver. The right 4th row photo is courtesy of Mike Peterson (Arusha NP, 1-08). The other photos were all taken in Arusha NP except the left lower photo which was taken in Ngorongoro Crater (5-20); click it to see 21 enlargements including more immatures and flight photos.
