The straw-tailed whydah is a northeast African endemic that parasitizes the purple grenadier. The flying bird was seen on the Asogati Plain (4-06). The left lower breeding male was seen at Shambarai swamp (5-08); click it to see 13 enlargements which include breeding and non-breeding plumage, females and a juvenile.
