The photo and recording of Alexander's akalat were made in the Mahale Mountain NP (11-06) by David C. Moyer who noted: the call and habitat are very different from that of Bocage's Akalat, Sheppardia bocagei ilyai which is found in the lower altitude riverine forests throughout the Mahale ecosystem down to Northern Zambia.
