The southern carmine bee-eater is found in treed and bushed grassland in western Tanzania as far north as Lake Victoria. The upper 3 birds were photographed in Katavi NP in December 2006 (left) and January 2012, courtesy of Paul Oliver. The bottom photo was taken in Chobe NP (Botswana, 3-16).
