The brubru is a black and white bush-shrike with chestnut flanks. The top photo (Engikaret, 11-22) is courtest of Per Holmen. The 2nd row photos were taken in Suledo Forest (left, 5/08) and Seronera (9/08). The 4th row birds were in Orkesumet (6-12). The bottom right bird ssp. nigrotemporalis was seen in Ruaha (3-13), courtesy of Claudia Stommel: note the absence of a superciliary stripe. All of the other birds were seen in Tarangire (4-04).
