The kurrichane or common buttonquail or button quail is a small quail, usually seen in flight and found in grassland, fields and open savanna. The left upper bird was photographed in Mkomazi NP (12-20, courtesy of Kim Axmann; the right upper photo is courtesy of Gian Schachenmann. The 2nd row bird was seen in the Kalahari (Botswana, 9-15).
