The winding cisticola is a dark-backed cisticola with bold streaks, brown or grey tail with dark subterminal spots and white tips; the crown and wing panels, rufous. The top photo was taken in the northern Serengeti (11-20). The left nest was photographed in Kisongo (3-22), courtesy of Mohamed Idd Mohamed; the right nest, Arusha (6-23), courtesy Frank Priscus Shirima. The left 4th row adult (Machame, 8-18) is courtesy of Bob Kasworm. The immatures in the 5th row were seen in Mkomazi (7-08) and Tarangire (5-08). The bird in the 6th and 7th rows was in Katavi (8-06) and the lower 4 images were taken at Seronera (10-10).
