The winding cisticola is a dark-backed cisticola with bold streaks, brown or grey tail with dark subterminal spots and white tips; the crown and wing panels, rufous. The immatures at top were seen in Mkomazi (7-08) and Tarangire (5-08). The bird in the 2nd and 3rd rows was in Katavi (8-06) and the lower 4 images weretaken at Seronera (10-10).
