The winding cisticola is a dark-backed cisticola with bold streaks, brown or grey tail with dark subterminal spots and white tips; the crown and wing panels, rufous. The left 2nd row adult (Machame, 8-18) is courtesy of Bob Kasworm. The immatures in the 3rd row were seen in Mkomazi (7-08) and Tarangire (5-08). The bird in the 4th and 5th rows was in Katavi (8-06) and the lower 4 images weretaken at Seronera (10-10).
