The brown-throated martin, also called the African sand martin or plain martin, lacks the breast band of other East African martins. The color of the throat and breast is brown and the color of the belly varies from white to brown. The 2nd row bird was at Speke Bay Lodge (3-13), courtesy of Paul Oliver.
