The spotted palm-thrush is a northeast African endemic, found in coastal thickets and drier country to the west as far as Lake Victoria. Note the rich rufous-brown colour and the broad superciliary stripe. The upper pair was in Kisongo (7-15), courtesy of Paul Oliver. The juvenile was seen at Lake Chala (right middle, 4-12), courtesy of Lyn Waltenberg. The other photos were taken in Tarangire. Click the left image to see a slideshow which includes nests, a night roost and feeding a red-chested cuckoo.
