The red-necked phalarope is a palearctic migrant that may be seen along the coast or on inland lakes from October to April. The flight photo was taken in Bagamoyo (2-14) and the lower two photos were taken in Dar es Salaam (2-12), all courtesy of Riaan Marais. The recordings and videos of birds in breeding and non-breeding plumage were all made in Europe or North America.
