The eastern bronze-naped pigeon is mainly seen in highland forests, occasionally in coastal forests, see map. The right upper photo was takem in the Dlinza Forest in KwaZulu-Natal (1-09), courtesy of Mike Graham. The other photos were taken in the Nou Forest (1-11). The white half-collar of the male on the lower nape is visible in the upper images; the female in the lower photos lacks the collar.
