The cape shoveler is a south African species that may wander as far north as northern Tanzania and may be seen on freshwater lakes and ponds. It was first seen in Tanzania in 1997. The second sighting (top photo) was in Ngorongoro Crater (9/13/2023) by Isaac Kilusu. The bottom photo was taken in the West Coast NP, Western Cape, South Africa, courtesy of Mike Graham.
