The African goshawk is a medium-small hawk of forest and denser woodland. The upper three photos of an adult male (Arusha, 6-13) and an immature (Arusha, 8-14) are courtesy of Paul Oliver. The flight photo was taken in the Meru Forest (12-13). The right 3rd row immature was seen in Olasiti (8-10). The bottom photos are courtesy of Dr. Louis A. Hansen who notes: 'immature (due to combination of dark bluish-grey and brown feathers on upperparts). Sex: male (females larger); subspecies probably sparsimfasciatus; Udzungwa Mts, July 2007'.
