The three adult sombre greenbuls (upper and right 2nd row) were photographed at Pembe Abwe (12-08, 7-07). The immature (left 2nd row) was seen in Marangu (10-04). The left bottom adult was seen in Bagamoyo (12-11), courtesy of Stein Ø. Nilsen and the right bottom adult, in Pembe Abwe (7-07). Young birds have dark eyes that gradually change through light brown to pale white: the slider at the top shows five juveniles with varying eye color and eye rings (Mkwaja-Tanga, 11-14), courtesy of Phil Stouffer. Click the juvenile to see six enlargements.
