The little sparrowhawk is the smallest Tanzanian accipiter (28 cm). The white rump and the two central white spots oriented vertically on the tail are diagnostic, best seen in slideshow image 6. Slideshow images 12 - 19 show an adult batheing and singing at Lake Chala, courtesy of Lyn Walterberg.
