The levant sparrowhawk is a rare migrant in November and December in East Africa. Preferred habitat is said to be drier bush country and woodland. This juvenile was seen in Ngorongoro Crater (11-11), courtesy of Stein Ø. Nilsen. Note the dark (chocolate) brown color, the vertical black throat line and the dark iris.
