Bennett's woodpecker is found in open woodland and miombo in south-western Tanzania. Note the white neck and the white ear coverts with a few grey streaks in the male and the brown ear coverts in the female. The right upper bird was photographed in Kruger NP (9-09), courtesy of Mike Graham. The juvenile in the lower photo was seen in Waterberg-Namibia (9-15).
