The male red-tailed bristlebill has red eyes; the otherwise similar female, brown eyes. The male in the upper four photos was caught and banded in Minziro Forest (8-06). The 3rd row bird was in Queen Elisabeth NP-Uganda (1-23), courtesy of Karine van der Vurst. The bottom bird was photographed in the Kakamega Forest (7-18), courtesy of Per Holmen.
