The rufous-bellied heron is a small, shy heron that prefers dense cover. It is dark grey with rufous wing patches, belly and tail. The upper bird was seen at Lake Manyara (11-14), courtesy of Zul Bhatia. The 3rd row photo (Lake Manyara, 11-16) is courtesy of Linda Bushman.
