The short thick bill, the light grey breast and the absence of a malar stripe are the features that best separate the pallid honeyguide from the lesser honeyguide. Note also the white loral spot and the pink base of the lower mandible. The upper bird was seen at Msosa--Udzungwa Mountains (7-19), courtesy of Kim Axmann.
