The Ruaha hornbill, also called Tanzanian red-billed hornbill, an endemic, was recently split from the Northern red-billed hornbill. Above is a combined photo that shows both. The right lower photo (Ruaha, 11-08) is courtesy of Skyler Russell; the right upper (Ruaha, 10-18), courtesy Sitthivet Santikarn; and the pair (Ruaha, 11-17), courtesy Paul Oliver. The other photos were taken in Selous, Katavi, Olpiron and Ruaha. For more information including a map and the record of the split, click on the icons to the right.
