The distinctive call of the blue-naped mousebird is well illustrated in the recordings. All of the slideshow photos are adults: note the iridescent blue nape, long narrow tail, red eye mask and the black-tipped red bill. The left 4th row photo (Mererani, 2-20) is courtesy of Alex Rees. The right 5th row bird was seen at Lake Chala (4-11), courtesy of Lynn Waltenberg. The others were seen at Engikaret, Kia Lodge, Lake Manyara, Olasiti, Shambarai swamp and Ngutukoiti.
