The defining characteristics of the adult brown parrot are the yellow band across the forehead and the yellow shoulders. A yellow underwing patch shows in flight. In slideshow photos #9-13 the pair was excavating a nest cavity. They traded placed approximatelyevery 10 minutes. When time was up, the one inside would fly out and give a single note call; the other would then fly to the nest, go inside and the cycle would repeat.
