Most of the slideshow images of Kittlitz's plover were made while the birds were foraging at the edge of Lake Magadi in Ngorongoro Crater . Most are in breeding plumage with the characteristic dark black head markings which are replaced in non-breeding season with sepia color. The flock in flight was seen at Lake Manyara (3-12), courtesy of Paul Oliver. The 5th row bird was seen on the Laikipia Plateau (Kenya, 2-12), courtesy of Karine Van der Vurst. The 4th row photo and the nest were at Ndutu (5-15), courtesy of Siegfried Woldhek. The other photos were taken at Ndutu, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara.
