The straw-tailed whydah is a northeast African endemic that parasitizes the purple grenadier. The flying bird was seen on the Asogati Plain. The female was at Arusha, courtesy of Frank Priscus Shirima. The left lower breeding male was seen at Shambarai swamp; click it to see 15 enlargements which include breeding and non-breeding plumage, females and a juvenile.
