The European beeeaters are large (28cm) palearctic migrants from Europe and Asia. These photos were taken at Lake Manyara, Magara, Chobe NP (Botswana) and Tarangire. The right bottom row photo of a flying bee-eater on migration was made in Denmark by Dr. Louis A. Hansen. The immature (left 4th row) was at Tarangire. The 5th row bird on a fence was in Extremadura-Spain, courtesy of Karine Van der Vurst. Click the photo above to see 10 enlargements.
