Susan Stolberger first identified the Ruaha chat which is similar to Arnot's chat. The male is phenotypically the same as Arnot's; the female (upper right, horizontal and lower photos) is clearly different. DNA studies also show a clear difference, as have sound recordings, and the ranges are largely separate (see map).The left upper bird was in the Burigi Game Reserve (1-16). The upper right and left middle photos were taken at Isunkaviola (Ruaha, 9-09).
