The black coucal is the smallest Tanzanian coucal. Its habitat is tall grassland, swamps and coastal lowlands. The left upper photo was taken in Tarangire NP (4-16), courtesy of Riaan Marais. The right upper juvenile (Mkomazi, 7-21) is courtesy of Bob Kasworm. The right 2nd row bird was seen at Mwera (3-08). The let lower juvenile was seen in the Serengeti (Seronera, 1-12). The right lower adult was also seen in the Serengeti (2-08), courtesy of Steve Dolberg. The other photos were taken at Ushongo (6-08).
