The thick-billed cuckoo is an uncommonly seen canopy dweller especially in southern, western and coastal forests. The upper bird was photographed south of Dar es Salaam and the juvenile, in Dar, both courtesy of Riaan Marais. The bird in flight was seen in Mozanbique, courtesy of Per Holmen. The right lower bird was seen in the Msumbugwe FR. Note the yellow eye ring and narrowly banded tail. |
