The Eurasian hobby is a palearctic migrant in Tanzania from September to May. Note the long slender wings that reach the tail tip and the rufous lower belly in the adult. The left upper immature was seen in Mikumi (2-13), courtesy of Karine Van der Vurst. The right upper adult was on the Msumbugwe savanna (4-10). The second row 1CY birds and the 3rd row 2CY (left) and adult birds were seen in Denmark (9-08), courtesy of Dr. Louis A. Hansen. The birds in the slider were seen in Msumbugwe, Oldonyo Sambu, Ipole WMA, Ngorongoro Crater, Mikumi NP and Manyara Ranch. |
