The plateau lark is found in eastern Zambia, northern Malawi and southern Tanzania. It was formerly treated as a subspecies of the rufous-naped lark (Mirafra africana nigrescens). These photos were taken on the Kitulo plateau; the upper photo is courtesy of Isaac Kilusu and the lower birds in the wet and dry seasons are courtesy of Paul Oliver.
