A pair of spotted eagle-owls and their single offspring was photographed in Erwin Kinsey's garden and under his satellite dish (Ngaramtoni, 12-03, also see the enlargements). The pair (left 3rd row) has returned to this location annually to nest for many years. The right upper photo was taken at Lake Chala (11-11), courtesy of Lyn Waltenberg; the right lower photo, in Olasiti (12-07), courtesy of Christopher Moses. The rocky nest and egg photos (Oldonyo Sambu, 8-24) are courtesy of Frank Priscus Shirima. The chicks (left 3rd row, 12-17), were seen near Moshi, courtesy of Michael Harris. The other photos were taken in Ngaramtoni, Olasiti and Lemuta. Click the left lower photo to see enlargements including chicks, fledges, juveniles and adults.
