The Abyssinian scimitarbill is a northeast African endemic wood-hoopoe. The orange bill, glossy blue-black color and absence of white in the wings are characteristic. The right upper immature was seen in Napilokonya; note the brown bill. The other photos were taken in Tarangire. Click the photo above to see 9 enlargements.
