The northern white-crowned shrike is an east African endemic. The slideshow images 3-12 show a bird finding a centipede on the ground, hesitating to pick it up, finally taking it to a nearby tree and eating it rather gingerly. The nest was seen in Mkomazi NP, courtesy of Lily Shallom; the 2nd row adult, Entebbe-Uganda, courtesy of Karine Van der Vurst; the 5th row, Oldonyo Sambu, courtesy of Frank Priscus Shirima; the other photos were taken in Tarangire; click the lower one to see a slideshow which includes fledges, juveniles, immatures and another nest.
