The Swahili sparrow is common in central Tanzania in bushed grassland. The right upper photo was taken at Oldupai Gorge. All of the other photos were taken in Tarangire. Note the grey head color extends onto the mantle while the mantle in the northern grey-headed sparrow is brown. Click the photo above to see enlargements which include feeding young in a nest and immatures.
