The flight photo was taken at Kogatende-Mara River (1-19), courtesy of Julien Polet. The 2nd row stork was seen in Tarangire (11-14); the 3rd row, Arusha NP (11-07); and the 4th row bird, in Tarangire NP (11-07). The 5th row photos were taken in Tarangire (11-08) and the immature in the bottom row was also seen in Tarangire (2-10). It is a solitary and uncommon palearctic migrant, though birds in southern Tanzania may be from southern Africa. Click photo above to see 7 enlargements. |
