The African black swift is dark brown/black with a pale white throat and a lighter patch on the inner upper wing that contrasts with the darker body and distal wing. The left 2nd row photo was taken at Lukuba, courtesy of Valéry Schollaert. The bottom birds were photographed in Tarangire NP; all of the other photos were taken at Ngorongoro Crater.
