White-cheeked Tern
Sterna repressa
Home Alphabetical Maps Taxonomic Links/Resources

The white-cheeked tern is similar to the common terns but with greyer wings, darker tail and underparts, and a slightly longer and more slender bill, but there may nevertheless be confusion with the 'dark races' of common tern. Ushongo and Pembe Abwe are adjacent locations south of Pangani and Maziwe island is about 7 km off-shore from Ushongo.
