The lesser swamp warbler is a large (14-16 cm) reed-warbler with a long bill, black legs and large feet. It is larger than the similar African reed-warbler (12-13 cm) which has smaller feet. The upper bird was seen at Speke Bay Lodge (3-13), courtesy of Paul Oliver. The immature (right 2nd row) was in Olasiti, 11-08. The adults were seen in Ngorongoro crater (4th & 5th rows,10-10), Tlawi (3rd row, 7-08). Click the photo above to see 9 enlargements. |
