Upcher's warbler is an uncommonly seen palearctic migrant to dry country in northeastern Tanzania from November to April. Note the black tail with narrow white edges, bi-coloured bill, and the black lore smudge. The upper two photos (Lake Natron, 12-15) are courtesy of Thibaut Chansac. The bird in hand was on the Maasai steppe (4-09) and the 4th row bird, on the Asogati Plain (1-13), both courtesy of Paul Oliver; the lower photo (Asogati Plain, 3-10).
