The bar-throated apalis is a resident of highland and eastern arc forest from southwest to north/northeastern Tanzania. The upper photo, ssp. griseiceps, (Ukaguru FR-Morogoro, 4-21) is courtesy of Joseph Cosmas; the 2nd row, ssp. pareensis, So. Pare Mountains (4-22), courtesy of Per Holmen.
