The upper photo was taken at Ndutu, courtesy of Per Holmen; the flight and middle photos, at Lake Natron, courtesy of Paul Oliver. These photos include males, females and immatures. The male (5th row) has a dark chestnut breast band, a black bar above the white forehead and a thin black stripe behind the eye; the female (7th row) has a light chestnut band and no black marks; the immature has an incomplete grey breast band and grey eye stripe. These photos were taken at Lake Eyasi, Lake Natron and Yaeda Valley.
