Common (Northern/Southern) Fiscal
Lanius collaris/Lanius humeralis
Home Alphabetical Maps Taxonomic Links/Resources

The common fiscal has been split into the northern fiscal Lanius humeralis and the southern fiscal Lanius collaris. The territorial and morphologic differences are not well established so all of these are shown under common fiscal, although most are likely northern (see reference to the right). The upper bird was seen in Oldonyo Sambu (1-21), courtesy of Per Holmen. The 2nd row birds were seen in Morogoro (9-03); the 3rd row, in Arusha NP (left, 2-17), courtesy of Karine Van der Vurst and Olasiti (8-10). The photos with the immature were taken at Gibb's Farm (4-04). Click the photo above to see several enlargements.
