The Basra reed-warbler is a large palearctic migrant (15 cm) with a dark tail, slim body and a long pointed bill, infrequently seen in reed beds and rank vegetation along the coast and sometimes inland. The right upper photo was taken at the Pangani River (1-10). The other photos were taken at Mbuyuni Farm near Morogoro (left upper, 3-20; others, 1-17), courtesy of Kim Axmann.
