The pectoral sandpiper is a rare palearctic migrant in East Africa, the bird in the above photos being the second record in Tanzania. Note the decurved bill, yellow-green legs and the dark, streaked breastband. Both photos were taken at Lake Manyara (12-17) and are courtesy of Zul Bhatia.
