The terek sandpiper is a palearctic migrant from the tundra of northern Europe and Russia. Although usually found in coastal lagoons and along the shore, it may occasionally be seen inland. The top photo below was taken at Pangani (8-10), courtesy of Valéry Schollaert. The upper flight photo was taken at Mikamvi-Zanzibar (3-20), courtesy of Paul Reed. The left 5th row and the right 6th row photos were taken at Pembe Abwe (4-06).
